The Leeper House stands at the center of a clearing. White walls and a low porch face the open lawn. A single cabbage palm grows near the steps. Beyond the grass, live oaks draped with Spanish moss and taller cabbage palms form a dense edge. Shorter palms and shrubs fill the understory.
From beneath the trees, the house is partly hidden by hanging moss and crossing fronds. The canopy reaches over the lawn. At the margins of the clearing, sunlit grass gives way to shade and thicker growth where Doris was once photographed with her two dogs.
